Student Support

Student Support

It's essential for schools to identify the support needs of their students and provide them with the necessary resources to ensure their academic success and overall well-being.

Students often require academic support in the form of tutoring, after-school programs, and specialized classes. This can help students who may be struggling in certain subjects or need extra help to keep up with their peers.

INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLAN

Grace Valley Indian School possesses an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to support the challenged students with various difficulties and disabilities that they face in their daily life to meet their needs in consultation with a collaborative effort between Special Education Coordinator, Psychologist, Social Worker and all other stakeholders of the child. It determines the quality and quantity of educational and support services required to meet the needs of each student. ALP will be reviewed periodically and modified if needed.

Students of Determination

The SOD Team determines that the student is eligible to receive special education programs and services, then following the SOD team meeting, an IEP meeting is held and an IEP is developed. The most important elements of the IEP are the goals and objectives and accommodations and modifications that are needed to meet the educational needs of the student. Accommodations include instructional accommodations, environmental accommodations, and assessment accommodations also special accommodations for the students with physical disabilities throughout their curricular and co-curricular activities.
